Confident of Completion

10/27/2024

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6 NIV

This verse reassures us that God is invested in every detail of our lives. Paul encourages us to have confidence that God, who initiated a transformative work within us, will remain faithful to complete it. This isn’t about human efforts but about God’s steadfast commitment. Whether we see progress or feel stuck, He continues His work within us, molding and shaping us daily.

Consider the process of building a house. Just as construction involves a series of deliberate steps, God’s work in us is a steady process. The foundation is laid with our faith, and over time, each brick or beam represents growth through experiences, challenges, and spiritual maturity. Although we can’t see the final product during construction, the builder has the blueprints and knows the intended outcome. In the same way, God sees the full picture of our lives, and He faithfully builds us into His vision.

Here at either things we need to do everyday to help us grow in faith and belief that He will bring us to completion.

Trust in the Process

Like the builders who take each day as it comes, step by step, trust that God knows exactly what He’s doing. You may not understand why things happen or why some seasons seem unproductive. Remind yourself that God’s work in you is ongoing, even in moments of waiting or uncertainty.

Surrender Your Doubts

There are days we feel discouraged, as if we’ve fallen short of what we “should be.” Remember that God’s commitment to us is based on His grace, not our performance. His work in you is not abandoned when you make mistakes but is ever in progress toward His purpose for your life.

Look for Signs of Growth

Reflect on how God has shaped you over time. Maybe you’re more patient, or perhaps your faith is stronger than it once was. Recognize these changes as part of His work within you. It can be like the house finally coming together—the framework, walls, and finishing touches reveal a clearer image of what He intends.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God sees beyond our present circumstances to our potential in Christ. Rest in the assurance that He won’t leave His work in you incomplete; He will see it through to perfection, one day at a time.

Lord, thank You for beginning a good work in me. Help me to trust that even when I cannot see progress, You are at work. Give me patience, faith, and hope that You will complete what You have started. Let my life be a testament to Your faithfulness, not just in the end but through every step of the journey. Amen.
