Proclaiming His Glory to All

01/19/2025

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
 – 1 Chronicles 16:24 (NIV)

Take a moment and imagine the resounding joy of David’s celebration. The ark of the covenant, the symbol of God’s presence, was being brought to Jerusalem, and David burst into worship. This wasn’t just a private moment; it was an invitation for everyone to join in declaring God’s greatness. He wasn’t satisfied with keeping God’s glory confined to Israel; he longed for the whole world to hear and see the wonders of the Lord.

This verse reminds us that we, too, have the privilege and responsibility to proclaim God’s glory, not only in our churches but in every corner of our lives. It’s not enough to experience His goodness for ourselves. We are called to share it so that others may know and worship Him.

When David speaks of declaring God’s glory, he isn’t asking for half-hearted effort. He’s calling for full-throated, bold proclamation of God’s marvelous deeds. Think for a moment about the ways God has revealed His glory in your life. Maybe it was through a miraculous answer to prayer, the peace that carried you through a storm, or the redemption you found in Jesus. These moments aren’t meant to be hidden. They are meant to testify to the goodness and power of our God.

Now let’s expand the lens. David’s vision wasn’t just for his people but for “all peoples.” As followers of Christ, we have a global mission. The Great Commission echoes this same heart: “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). The gospel is not exclusive; it’s for everyone. And God has placed you exactly where you are to declare His glory, in your workplace, in your family, and even in the grocery store.

Here are some easy ways for you to get as excited as David and share your witness with others.

Remember What God Has Done for You
Take time to reflect on how God has worked in your life. What’s has He saved you from? What are the “marvelous deeds” you’ve witnessed? Gratitude fuels proclamation, so start by praising Him for His faithfulness.

Step Into Your Mission Field
Your mission field might not be a distant country; it might be your neighborhood, your office, or your social media. Ask God to show you one person who needs to hear about His love, and pray for the courage to share your story.

Live as a Testimony
Proclaiming God’s glory isn’t just about words. It’s about living a life that reflects His character, loving the unlovable, forgiving freely, and serving selflessly. Your actions often speak louder than your words. Remember, you may be the only Bible someone reads.

This week, find one way to intentionally declare God’s glory. It might be sharing your testimony, writing a note of encouragement to someone in need, or inviting a friend to church. Take the step and trust God to work through you!

Heavenly Father, You are worthy of all praise. Your glory fills the heavens, and Your marvelous deeds are beyond number. Help me to see the ways You’re working in my life and give me boldness to share Your goodness with others. Let my words and my actions declare Your glory so that others may come to know You. Use me to make Your name known, here and to the ends of the earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
