The Power of God at Work
1/20/2024
"So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow."
- 1 Corinthians 3:7 (NIV)
Do you often find yourself striving to make an impact for the kingdom of God. We all desire to see lives transformed, hearts healed, and souls saved. We may even feel the pressure to measure our success by the visible outcomes we can see. However, in today's scripture, the Apostle Paul reminds us of a fundamental truth that we must grasp and continually remember: It is God who makes things grow.
As believers, we have the privilege of participating in God's work, but we must never forget that it is ultimately His power and grace that brings about true transformation. We may plant the seeds of the Gospel through our words and actions, or water those seeds with love and discipleship, but it is God alone who gives the increase. This truth should bring both relief and humility to our hearts.
Our efforts, no matter how significant or insignificant they may seem, are not in vain when they are aligned with God's purposes. Even if we cannot always witness immediate results or visible outcomes, we can trust that God is at work. Sometimes, Many times He works in ways that are invisible to our human eyes, yet His hand is always moving.
Our role, then, is to faithfully sow and water, trusting in God's power to bring forth the harvest. We must surrender any tendency to rely on our own strength or abilities, recognizing that it is God who empowers us to fulfill His purposes. This truth should humble us and remind us to depend on Him fully, seeking His guidance and direction in all that we do.
Moreover, this verse encourages us to embrace a spirit of unity and collaboration within the body of Christ. Paul emphasizes that it is not about who plants or waters, but about recognizing that every individual's contribution is essential. When we work together, recognizing our unique roles and gifts, we create a synergy that allows God's work to flourish even more.
Today, let us be encouraged by the truth that our efforts, when surrendered to God, have eternal significance. We may not always see the results immediately, but we can trust that God is at work, faithfully tending to the seeds we have sown. Let us faithfully plant and water, knowing that it is God who brings forth the increase. May we continually seek His guidance, rely on His power, and trust in His perfect timing.
Thank Him for the privilege of participating in His work. Always remember that it is God who makes things grow. Humbly surrender your efforts to Him today, trusting in His power and timing. let Him guide us in your planting and watering, so that you may faithfully serve His kingdom. Submit to Him and rely on His strength, seek His wisdom, and work together in unity with the Father.
