Worthy, Worthy, Worthy

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
- Revelation 4:11 NIV
Imagine stepping into the throne room of heaven. The air is thick with awe. Creatures beyond human comprehension bow in worship. A chorus of voice, multitudes upon multitudes, rise in unison, declaring the greatness of God. And at the center of it all, seated on His throne, is the One who was, who is, and who is to come. This is the scene in Revelation 4, where John is given a glimpse into heavenly worship.
At the heart of this worship is a profound declaration: God is worthy. Not just worthy in a passive sense, but actively deserving of all glory, all honor, and all power. Why? Because He is the Creator. Every star in the sky, every blade of grass, every heartbeat in your chest, everything exists because of His will.
How often do we pause to truly reflect on the worthiness of God? Our world is filled with distractions that clamor for our attention, and it’s easy to let our worship become routine. But in this passage, we are reminded that worship is not just something we do on Sundays. Worship is a response to the very nature of God. It is acknowledging who He is, the Sovereign Creator, and giving Him the glory He deserves.
The phrase “by your will they were created and have their being” speaks to God’s intentionality. You are not here by accident. You were designed by the same God who placed the planets in motion. Your life has meaning, purpose, and value because the God who reigns over heaven and earth willed you into existence. And if He created you, He sustains you. He upholds you. He is worthy of your trust.
So today, let this truth shape your heart. Let gratitude rise as you acknowledge the One who holds all things together. Spend a moment in awe. Declare His worthiness. And let your life, your words, your actions, your love, be an offering of worship to the King who reigns forever.
Here are a few questions for you to reflect on today as you continue your journey to be closer to God.
How does recognizing God as Creator deepen your worship?
In what ways can you glorify God with your daily life?
What distractions keep you from fully acknowledging God’s worthiness?
Let today be a day of worship, not just in song, but in every breath you take. He is worthy!
Father, You are worthy of all my praise. You created all things, and by Your will, I exist. Help me to never take that for granted. Open my eyes to see Your glory in the world around me. Let my worship be more than words, let it be the way I live my life. I surrender my heart to You again today, declaring that You alone deserve all honor and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
