Take Hold

This New Year, we are invited to step forward with purpose, not merely by setting resolutions or hoping for change, but by embracing the life Jesus has set before us. Like Paul, we’re called to let go of the past—our regrets and even our past successes—and strain toward the future with a focused, determined spirit. This “pressing on” isn’t passive or aimless; it’s a commitment to pursue Christ’s unique purpose for each of us. And it’s about more than just self-improvement; it’s a spiritual journey to take hold of the very reason Jesus took hold of us. 

As we take on the challenges and blessings of a new year, remember that Christ has placed a calling on each of our lives. We don’t have to carry the weight of the past into the future; instead, we can run with endurance, fueled by God’s grace and empowered by His Spirit to live out our calling fully and faithfully. This year, may we embrace God’s direction with courage, leaning into His strength to fulfill the purposes He has uniquely crafted for us.
